Training Your Chatbot: Overview #
The “Train data for Bot” section helps you build your chatbot’s knowledge base. By adding structured data from various sources, you enable your bot to respond accurately and contextually to user queries. This guide explains each training method available in the tabs and how to use them effectively. There are limits to the files and sizes you can use based on your plan settings which you can review here or in your account.
Files #
Purpose:
Upload documents to form your chatbot’s knowledge base. This is useful for FAQs, product documentation, reports, or user manuals.
How to Use:
Click the Files tab.
Drag and drop or select files to upload.
Supported formats include
.pdf
,.doc
,.docx
,.txt
,.csv
,.xls
,.xlsx
,.ppt
,.pptx
.Once uploaded, the content is automatically parsed and indexed for the chatbot to reference in responses.
Text #
Purpose:
Input direct text content or short answers manually. Ideal for specific instructions, greetings, or fallback responses.
How to Use:
Click the Text tab.
Add a title or topic.
Input the related response or description.
Save to include it in the chatbot’s training.
Website #
Purpose:
Crawl a public webpage and pull information into the chatbot’s training. This is helpful if your business has a help center, knowledge base, or blog.
How to Use:
Click the Website tab.
Enter a valid public URL.
The bot will scrape and analyze the content to extract useful responses.
Q&A #
Purpose:
Upload or manually enter question and answer pairs. This format is efficient for building a FAQ database.
How to Use:
Click the Q&A tab.
Manually type questions and corresponding answers or upload structured Q&A files (CSV or TXT).
Save the data to teach your bot how to respond to specific inquiries.
YouTube #
Purpose:
Use the content from YouTube videos to teach the bot. Useful for training the bot on tutorials, product walkthroughs, or recorded webinars.
How to Use:
Click the YouTube tab.
Enter the URL of a public video.
The system will extract and transcribe audio to build chatbot responses.
Audio #
Purpose:
Upload audio files to train your bot using spoken content. Good for teams with recorded customer calls or audio notes.
How to Use:
Click the Audio tab.
Upload supported formats (typically
.mp3
,.wav
depending on platform settings).The system transcribes the file and uses it to enrich chatbot training.
