Installing ChatFlow on your website

Configuring Your Workspace #

This section helps you set up the basic workspace settings for your chatbot including its name, website URL, and analytics tracking. This is the foundation of your ChatFlow integration.

Set Up Your Workspace #
  • Go to the Setup tab.
  • Under Workspace Configuration, enter your Chatbot Name (e.g., “My Website”).
  • Enter your Website URL in the format: https://example.com.
  • Click Save Changes to apply.
Setting Up Chatbot & Analytics #

This step configures how the chatbot appears and enables visitor behaviour tracking with ChatFlow’s analytics tools.

Enable Chatbot Settings #
  • Expand the Chatbot & Analytics section.
  • Open Chatbot Settings.
  • Enable Display Chatbot – this makes the chatbot visible on your site.
  • Toggle Show on All Pages to allow the chatbot to appear site wide or configure it for specific pages.
Enable Analytics #
  • Expand the Analytics panel.
  • Turn ON Enable Analytics.
  • Under Tracking Type, select Advanced for detailed visitor tracking.
  • Toggle ON the following options:
    • Visitor Activities – capture detailed interaction data.
    • Session Recording – record entire user sessions.
    • Show on All Pages – ensure analytics are active throughout your site.
Installing the Chatbot Script #

The final step is to install the ChatFlow script on your website to activate the chatbot and analytics.

Navigate to the Install Tab #
  • Click on the Install tab in the top navigation.
Choose User Type #
  • Select the type of visitor your chatbot is for:
    • For visitors without logins – anonymous users.
    • For users with logins – users authenticated on your platform.
Copy the Installation Code #
  • Copy the provided <script> code.
  • Paste it into your website’s HTML, just before the closing </body> tag.
  • If using a tag manager like Google Tag Manager, insert the script as a custom HTML tag.
Check Installation #
  • Scroll down to Check Installation.
  • Click the Check installation button to verify everything is set up properly.

Your chatbot should now be fully installed and operational on your site with real-time tracking and analytics enabled.

Installing the push notifications #

Now you have set up ChatFlow on your website, you can now activate push notifications. You will need to do one small extra step before you can start sending notifications.
