Getting Started with Your ChatFlow Chatbot #
Setting up your ChatFlow chatbot correctly ensures it reflects your brand, engages users effectively, and supports your business goals. This guide walks you through the essential steps to fully configure your chatbot—from styling to AI configuration and beyond.
Step 1: Style Your Bot #
Overview: A visually consistent chatbot builds trust and enhances user experience. Styling your bot to match your brand makes the assistant feel like a natural part of your website.
Instructions:
- Go to Personalize under the Chatbot menu.
Click on Chat Widget section in your dashboard.
Click the “Style your bot” tab.
Upload a Bot Logo.
Set a Bot Name.
Customize the Header Text to greet users.
Choose an Accent Color that matches your website theme.
Write an Assistant Text snippet to describe how your bot helps.
Step 2: Add Navigation and Footer Links #
Overview: Navigation and footer elements guide users to helpful content, improving usability and boosting page engagement.
Instructions:
Click on the “Links and Footer” tab.
Choose which components to show:
Navigation Links
External Links
Status Updates
Help Center
Social Media Links
Rearrange components by dragging to reorder.
Customize Tab Background and Footer Link styles as needed.
Step 3: Configure AI Settings #
Overview: AI settings help personalize interactions. When the bot understands your business and your audience, it can deliver smarter, more helpful responses.
Instructions:
Open the “AI Configuration” tab.
Fill in your Business Profile:
Industry
Business Type
Company Description
Target Audience tags
Choose a Chatbot Personality (tone, style, etc.).
Set a Conversation Strategy to align with user goals.
Configure Engagement & Support preferences for real-time help or lead capture.
Step 4: Enable Add-ons from the Marketplace #
Overview: Add-ons allow you to enhance your chatbot with powerful features such as social proof, external links, or real-time updates—no dev work required.
Instructions:
Click “Marketplace” in the top-right menu.
Under Add-ons, toggle on tools like:
Status Updates
Social Media Links
Help Center
Navigation Links
Switch to the AI Agents tab to enable:
Web Search Agent
API Agent
Weather Agent
Click Save Changes when you’re done.
Step 5: Preview and Publish Your Widget #
Overview: Testing your chatbot before publishing helps you catch any design or usability issues, ensuring a smooth experience for your users.
Instructions:
Click “Preview on Website” at the top of the page.
Test the chatbot on desktop and mobile.
Review responses, design elements, and link behavior.
Return to make edits if needed.
Click “Save Changes” to publish your chatbot live.
