Adding features to your chatbot

Overview #

The Links and Footer section in your ChatFlow widget allows you to customize navigation, add helpful resources, and provide real-time system updates. This ensures your chatbot not only answers questions but also connects users to the right destination quickly.

Access the Links and Footer Settings #
  1. From your ChatFlow Dashboard, go to your desired workspace.
  2. Select the Chat Widget from the left-hand navigation.
  3. Click on the Links and Footer tab at the top.

Enable Body Components #

In the Body Components panel, you can toggle and configure the following:

  • Navigation Links: Allow users to switch between chatbot tabs like chat, help, or notifications.
  • External Links: Add links to external websites or resources.
  • Status Updates: Show operational updates (e.g., “All Systems Operational”).
  • Help Center: Link to documentation or FAQs.
  • Social Links: Connect your social media profiles (must be enabled separately).

Click the gear icon next to any toggle to open additional settings and customize content or appearance.

Customize the Footer Section #

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the chatbot preview.
  2. Click on the Footer Link label.
  3. Add or update the footer text (e.g., “Powered by chatflowapp.com”) and include a hyperlink if needed.

Updating the footer text is only available to paid accounts.

Style the Tab Background #

  1. Locate the Tab Background section below the chatbot preview.
  2. Customize tab color or background to match your brand.
  3. Toggle visibility if you want to hide or display the tab background.

Save and Preview Changes #

  • Click Save Changes in the top right corner to apply your updates.
  • Use the Preview on Website tab to view the live experience before publishing.
